last week we went to the pop up art
where             is presenting his carving.

A former boner at the meat works, pursuing his passion in Maori wood carving.
Tells us his story about carving, I didn't get a chance to watch him in action, but his current displays look very detailed and always have a story and meaning.

watching 12 principles of animation you tube again. taking notes this time.

1. SQUASH AND STRETCH- remember to keep the volume of the ball the same.

2. Anticipation. Remember the anticipation of the action, warming up and communication, preparing them for the next action.
winde up.

3. Staging . acting, timing ,
all elements of the screen work together to tell the audience where to look.
Main action should be clear and simple.
If text is on screen, leave it on screen for at least 3 counts.
Camera angles.

4. Straight ahead, 
first drawing, over and over and over...
beginning to end. good for unpredictable. (FIRE)

Pose to pose.
beginning, middle, end. do the main poses.


5.FOLLOW THROUGH
AND OVERLAPPING ACTION
.DRAG.


6. Slow in and Slow out.

Achieving a life like motion.
start slow, fast middle, slow stopping.


7.Arch.
when movement are fast, u can add a smear in an arch.
Follow an arch towards the middle movement.
add to figures, bodies, arms, follow through in arch.



8.Secondary action.
gestures that describe more information about the primary action.

.9.  Timing.
Personality, frames,  etc is effected greatly by the timing
Drawing on twos looks more smooth.


10. Exaggeration 
make expressions more convincing, and noticeable. push the exaggeration.

11. Solid drawing
cubes. lines should be shaped towards perscective line
avoid symmetry
avoid twinning, arms or legs doing the same thing.

12. Appeal.
should be pleasing to look at, or interesting.
Dynamic design.
use variety of shapes.
proportions
keep it simple.

Need to try and watch them not at home next time, its too destracting.

FINALLY Got my Wacom tablet to work on my laptop at home. yaaay.

went to the fashion meeting today at 11.30

The new venue will now be beside the sit building, in the Centre Stage...

There are 119 garments to be shown in the show.

They will be having a dress rehearsal November Sunday, 4th. Important to go along.

They are Needing as many photographers as we can get. there are 5 of us helping but only 3 that want to take photos.



We are instructed to Try and get shots of each garment.
1st shot front on coming up the middle.

then shots from other angles, and shots backstage getting ready.

shots paparazzi like, of the sponsors arriving in also

our photos will be water marked as our own, and only present them ig they are great.

If we want to use the photos for our own purposes, like facebook etc?, We need to get the models to sign Model Release forms.

We are invited to attend some of the photo shoots

Sunday 30th- Sharleen= 11am, location unknown
Sunday 30th sep with Monica, 3pm Oreti Beach.
Saturday 6th October, 4pm, 39 Queens Drive.
Sunday 7th October, 11am Queens Park Shoot,gala st entrance.

We can also attend Centre Stage Thursday 11.30am to have a look.

started molding a chicken wire tree, with roots coming out the bottem,
decided to add plaster onto clothe add drape it over, to give it a hard structure,

now my sculpture is changing, its going to become a large tree with s women figure sculpted into the trunk..

Inverted the negatives,
Im pretty happy with most of them.

Ive been thinking of how I may print my final pieces?????

Firstly I thought of an old scroll type looking way of displaying my images on the wall.
I still think this would be really gorgeous,

but  Im going to go with displaying the photo/prints on wood, with mod podge.
I have done this technique before, to create gifts for people, and I plan on doing more for my own wall.

In the weekend I shopped around for some nice pieces of wood to use, and i decided on 3 wooden chopping boards, $15 each at The Warehouse..

I will give them a light sand first then
print out the photos and pictures of prints i want on my wood.
cut them out.
Modge podge the top of my wood evenly.
apply pictures ink down and carefully press lightly.
Leave to dry for 24 hours.
Rub paper off with a wet clothe.
Apply another layer of Modge Podge on top.
Leave to dry.

I may burn around the outside of the wood, to create a funky burnt out boarder???

Seen Monica.
Monica is interested in me helping her with dramatic makeup, for her fashion models, they will be 
going on last ,so i can  glam them up!.

some of the team will be going through the venue to check out the space and lighting etc,
I had a prier arrangement, so i will have to organise to look through another time.

We will meet with the fashion team this Tuesday 25th Sep. at 11am, for further discussions on progress.

We have been told that we may also display any of our art on the day as well, if I have enough time, I may advertise a poster of my glamorous body painting.

I added a few animations onto my website last week, im not sure if i blogged it or not??

Spent the day at school today, done heaps of photo-grams of trees/leaves,
then printed out some pictures of Invercargill areas and some tress an mushrooms to use for photo-grams.

mixed some of them up.

 FIGURED OUT HOW TO DELETE BACKGROUNDS SO ITS JUST THE FUNGUS.

 This is a print out of a pinhole photograph.

 printed pictures of my favorite tree in Invercargill, plus the Wachner place clock, etc

still negatives so far.
